So this post is looking at both off-line and online, Network Marketing mistakes and the things that hold people back.
Unfortunately many of the Uplines are making these same mistakes and teaching them to their Downline.
So in this post I'm just going to look at the top 5 Network Marketing mistakes that are being made by a large number of Network Marketers today:
Many people coming to the industry think that they going to make a fortune in a couple of months.
They think that success is going to come easy and when the challenges come that's when they leave.
You have to come into the industry with your eyes wide open, knowing that this is a business and with every business there going to be ups and downs and also challenging times.
If a person truly understands their strong reason for joining, that will sustain them during the tough seasons of the business.
Mistake Number Two: choosing the wrong company
If you are going to build a Network Marketing business successfully then you have to choose a company that you can get passionate about with products or services that you can believe it.
It cannot just be about the compensation plan, because if you cannot get passionate you will not promote it effectively. Remember 0% of a good compensation plan is still nothing.
Mistake Number Three Trying to be a salesperson
Another big mistake is when the new Network Marketers try to be a salespeople or a person that convinces people about the business instead of using the proven system and tools available to do the work.
This normally happens when a person is not very teachable and so in order for things to change they have to put their ego to one side and allow themselves to be mentored .
Mistake Number Four It Is Not Just About Your Friends And Family
The reality is, you have to speak to a lot more people than just your family and your friends
However there are some skills that you can learn that gives you the ability to meet new people through your family and your friends based on referrals. A really good book that demonstrates this is ENDLESS REfERRALS by Bob Burg.
Mistake Number Five: Not being genuine.
The biggest thing you have in this business is your integrity and if you are not a person of integrity that will be found out very quickly, this will hinder your growth!.
People without integrity over promise and under deliver.
People without integrity make false claims and use hype as a vehicle to sign people up.
You have to remember, building a Network Marketing business is a long-term profession, so you want to have a good name, because a good name is far better than any money you can make. It will open up the doors to make you even more money.
This is probably the most common mistake most Network Marketers make online .
They are so desperate to get sales and sign ups that they start pitching everybody .
This typically comes in many forms, but the most common form is by blasting the links all over social media.
”This is the next BIG THING, we pay on 20 levels and there is no other product like this on the market!”
This is the typical type a message you will see with the name of the company blasted it all over the post.
The problem with this approach is this , people have heard it so many times that they are immune to the message .
Also you have just told everybody the name of your company, so all they need to do is google it!
You always want to give somebody a reason to contact you, therefore you do that through curiosity.
Mistake Number Two : Leading With Their Company
If you build an audience based on your company then you are not protecting yourself .
The reason why this is the case is because, if the company ever disappears, your audience also disappears..
However if you build your audience based on YOU so you brand yourself first, then it doesn’t matter if the company closes down because you can take your audience where ever you want to take them .
Please do not get me wrong, you can believe wholeheartedly in your company, plus your company could be very stable, however the smart thing to do as a business person is always to protect yourself .
Mistake Number Three: Leading With Your Product Or Service Instead Of Leading With Value
People do not like to be sold to but they buy things all the time, so why is that ?
It is because they see the value in what they are purchasing.
So if you can lead with value first and address a problem that people have, then solve that issue with what your product or service does, then people are more likely to buy from you or join you.
The other fact to consider is, people buy and people join people that they know they like and they trust. So if you are constantly putting out valuable content that people actually want to read and watch, when you are building that trust factor and like factor. As they continue to watch you and read your content they then begin to know you and that is why people will join you .
Mistake Number Four: The Shiny Object Syndrome
There are so many things online today to distract the Network Marketer, that if they are not careful they can be doing everything other than building the business .
So especially online you must have a defined strategy that you are going to be doing and you have to establish a daily method of operation to keep you consistent .
Most people fail to build their business using Internet for the simple fact they are just not consistent with what they are doing .
Mistake Number Five: Not Have the Wring Infrastructure in place
If you have not got the right infrastructure in place you are going to make a big Network Marketing mistake and waste a lot of time.
You have to understand the difference between Prospecting and Marketing . Prospecting is a direct message where you are asking somebody to look at your business . Where as marketing is you putting great content out there to attract people to you through multiple exposures .
However you still need to have a way of capturing their details so that you can continue to market to them .
So you need to be using Capture pages and you need an auto responder linked to those capture pages. You also need some kind of online home like a blog of some sort.
You also need a way of recording all the conversations that you are having with these people, which will help with your follow-up.
Finally you need a way of integrating your business opportunity into the value that you are giving.
Most people do not know how to do this and do not even know where to start. This is why they don’t take it any further. However there is a solution to this problem that will take away ALL of the technical headache.
